Promotions, Brand Experience, Experiential and Field Marketing. What is it?
Basically, any brand, company or service that wants to lift their brand image, especially in public, will undertake some form of experiential or field marketing activity (which is also referred to as ‘below the line’ marketing).
The aim is to increase their exposure and profile as much as possible and dependent on the promotional activity, lift sales as a result. Many promotional activities may be seasonal, one-off, or related to a new product etc. and therefore companies will employ temporary promotional staff for these duties.
The normal route is for a brand ("the client") is to employ a PR (Public Relations) / Marketing agency to design a campaign which helps them achieve their brand marketing objectives. This may be anything from exhibiting at a trade show to a publicity stunt. The PR agency will then usually employ a Promotion Agency or Field Marketing (FM) company to co-ordinate and staff the campaign.
*StuckForStaff allows brands to request pitches from agencies for available new business.
As a brand ambassador or promotional marketer, it is the Promo or FM agency you will typically be working for, promoting the latest fizzy drink, alcoholic spirit or video game at a festival, or demonstrating the latest household appliance or cutting edge piece of technology at trade shows around the country; most importantly these are the companies that will contact you via StuckForStaff and whom you will have direct contact to.
